The College does not automatically confer degrees or certificates because eligibility requirements vary. Students are encouraged to meet with a counselor during their studies at CRC to ensure that they're taking courses that will meet degree and certificate requirements.
Summer 2018: June 29, 2018
Fall 2018: October 5, 2018
Spring 2019: March 1, 2019
Why so long? There are many factors. The evaluators receive hundreds of petitions. The staff must wait for final grades to be submitted by professors, review the petitions and completed coursework for accuracy, post the degree and certificate information to students' records, and then order the diplomas and certificates. Keep in mind that all of this work happens at the same time as the staff is also registering students and performing other Admissions and Records duties.
The Commencement Ceremony
This event occurs at the end of each spring semester. For the 2018-2019 academic year, students who earned a degree during the summer and fall of 2018, and the degree candidates for the spring semester of 2019 will be invited to attend.
Information packets will be mailed to students in April. The information will provide the details you will need to know about planning for the commencement ceremony. Please contact the Student Life and Leadership Office for details, 916-691-7315.
Students graduating with highest honors (cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better) will receive a gold tassel. Your grade point average is based on all college coursework, not just your classes at CRC.
