CRC Office of Philanthropy

Our Mission

The Cosumnes River College Office of Philanthropy (CRCOP) is a department formed to promote the image of Cosumnes River College and to provide financial and advisory support to the institution. Our mission is to build philanthropic support for Cosumnes River College’s educational mission of preparing students for an ever changing future, while empowering individual, corporate and foundation donors to realize their philanthropic vision. CRCOP manages giving opportunities and campaigns, community partnerships, donor stewardship, scholarship programs, and alumni and emeriti relations programs to raise resources to support student success.

Why your support is critical

Cosumnes River College plays an important role in the education and training of the community it serves. The Cosumnes River College Office of Philanthropy needs your support to help provide the margin of excellence that makes the difference between an adequate educational experience and an exceptional one. The students need people like you!

Give CRC Students the Gift of Textbooks!

TextbooksHelp CRC students focus on completing their education by donating today!

Many Cosumnes River College students face the difficult decision of whether to buy textbooks or pay for basic necessities like food, rent, and transportation. That is why we need the support of donors like you!

A survey of community college students found that:

  • 42% said they struggled to get adequate food
  • 9% said they had gone at least one day during the last month without eating because they lacked the money
  • 46% said they had difficulty paying for housing and utilities.

And – despite the fact that a community college education is one of the most affordable in higher education – textbooks still average $1,918 per year for our students. We hope you will consider donating today to help offset the cost of textbooks for our students.

“Typically I buy my books used from other students… in order to maximize my semester I usually have to take classes all over the Los Rios system to get the STEM classes I need…The difficulty of the classes in addition to driving from Elk Grove to Folsom sometimes really eats up the time so being able to go to the student store and buy the books at full price instead of spending the time searching for, and then meeting the person to save $80 or 100 per book allowed me to focus more on my studies and preparing for the semester. Thanks to you and your team, I started this semester with a head start.” - Eli Korcz, CRC Engineering student

Thank you for your contribution to CRC's Textbook Scholarship program!
